Track goals
Count the conversions that matter, from a page visit or a custom event.
A goal counts the visitors who did something that matters: reached the thank-you page, signed up, started a trial. Goals show conversions, conversion rate and the revenue those visitors brought in.
Create a goal
- Open your website and go to Goals.
- Click Create Goal and give it a name.
- Choose what counts as a conversion:
- Custom Event: a custom event, such as
signup_completed. - Page URL: a path, such as
/thank-you. The path must match exactly; query strings and#fragments are ignored.
- Custom Event: a custom event, such as
- Save. Conversions are counted from the data already collected, not only from now on.
Read the report
Each goal shows its conversions over the last days, its conversion rate, and the revenue from the visitors who converted. Use the filters at the top of the dashboard to compare goals by channel, campaign, page, country or device.
Next step
Chain goals and pages into a conversion funnel to see where visitors drop off on the way.
